What is a Nanny Support Group?

NSG's can be anything from an online message board of nannies with common interests to full-fledged small businesses. NSG's are not gripe sessions about our boss, our kids, and airing the dirty laundry of the people we work for. These groups are established for the advancement, education, networking and friendship of its members. NSG leaders are amongst the most knowledgeable in this industry, knowing the go-to places for job, industry services, conferences, and area information. A nanny new to any area needs to connect with the nanny group in her area - provided there is one - as soon as possible so that she can meet new people, attend events and become a part of the nanny community. NSG's have enabled me to meet lifelong friends, become more savvy and smart in this industry, know what to look for in a job, what to ask for in a work agreement and I know that at any given time, I have available a group of phenomenal women - and men - who know the trials and tribulations I go through and will offer the congratulations when deserved or the shoulder to cry on when needed.
